Celebrating National Nutrition Month!

March is National Nutrition Month, a perfect time to prioritize health and build better eating habits. It’s not only an opportunity to embrace nutritious choices, but also to celebrate the local farms and agriculture that provide us with fresh, wholesome foods. Michigan’s diverse agriculture industry plays a significant role in supporting our health and helping us maintain a balanced diet.

Michigan is home to a wide variety of nutritious foods, from vibrant fruits like cherries, apples, and blueberries to hearty vegetables such as sweet corn and squash. The state is also a major producer of dairy, soybeans, and grains, which are essential sources of protein, fiber, and key vitamins and minerals.

When reflecting on National Nutrition Month, it's important to recognize the role agriculture plays in helping us make healthier food choices. By choosing locally grown Michigan foods, we not only nourish ourselves but also support our local farmers and the state's agricultural economy.
